The RF legalized portions of parallel importation

The Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade set out a list of product categories and single products which are allowed for parallel importation into Russia on May 6^th, 2022. This list implements Resolution No. 506 of the Russian government from March 29^th, 2022, that permitted the importation of genuine products placed on the market with the consent of or by trademark owners in other places in the world, into the RF. This temporary permission of the RF for parallel importation of specific goods is aimed at avoiding a deficit in these specific products and products categories that may become nonexistent in the RF market as a result of sanctions, mass departure from the RF market of continental organizations and supply disruptions.

The said list sets out several categories of products and brands for which such importation is allowed. Some of these categories and products include batteries, phones, data recording and storing devices, TVs and projectors, monitors, video game consoles, chemical compounds, petroleum products, electric motors, and many others.
