The UK declares additional importation sanctions against Russia

On April 21st, 2022, the UK government declared it will impose additional prohibitions on the importation of several products from the RF such as wood, silver, and more high-end products like caviar. Moreover, the UK government also declared it will boost tariffs on certain RF and Belarus products by 35% points. Some of these products include ammunition, arms, rubber, textiles, pharmaceutical products and other high-end items like diamonds and leather.

In addition, on this day, the UK also designated several new Russian individuals and entities to the UK sanctions list. This designation results in travel bans and asset freezes being imposed on these new sanctioned persons. This round of designations was aimed at key leaders in the RF army as well as non-military persons that actively support the unlawful invasion of Ukraine.
